Privacy Policy
How WebSync for WA collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app — written in plain language, section by section.
Introduction
Welcome to WebSync for WA, developed by Raza's Dev Studio. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding information collection, use, and disclosure when you use our Android application.
WebSync for WA is a productivity companion app that brings WhatsApp Web, QR tools, status saving, and file management to your Android device — all while keeping your data private and secure.
Information We Collect
We collect very minimal information, and most of it never leaves your device:
- App preferences — theme, notification settings, and other in-app preferences, stored locally on your device only.
- WebView session data — cookies and local storage generated by WhatsApp Web, stored on-device inside the WebView sandbox. We cannot read this data.
- Downloaded files — files you choose to download via WhatsApp Web are saved to your device's standard Downloads folder. We do not access or copy these files.
- Saved statuses — when you save a WhatsApp status using Status Saver, the file is copied to a folder you select on your own device storage.
- Ad interaction data — Google AdMob may collect anonymized interaction data (impressions, clicks), as described in their own privacy policy.
- Crash reports — anonymous crash diagnostics may be collected by the Android platform to help us improve stability.
What We Do Not Collect
We want to be clear about what we never collect:
- Your WhatsApp messages, chats, or conversations
- Your phone number, name, or WhatsApp contacts
- Your location or GPS data
- Photos, videos, or audio from your device gallery, except files you explicitly share
- Your email address or other personal identifiers
- Biometric data of any kind
- Call logs or SMS messages
- Browsing history outside the app
- Financial or payment information
Permissions Explained
WebSync for WA requests only the permissions necessary to provide its features. Here is exactly why each one is needed:
WebView, Cookies & WhatsApp Web Session
The WhatsApp Web feature embeds a full web browser (WebView) inside the app. Here is how this data is handled:
- Cookies — WhatsApp Web stores a session cookie on your device so you stay logged in. It stays entirely within the app's WebView sandbox on your device.
- Local storage — used by WhatsApp Web to maintain your session, stored on your device only, in a restricted sandboxed location.
- Session persistence — the app keeps you logged in across restarts by preserving the WebView session, just like a browser does. You can clear this any time via Settings → Clear WhatsApp Session.
- We cannot read your chats — we have no technical ability to intercept or read your WhatsApp conversation contents; the WebView renders web content like a browser.
- External links — links inside WhatsApp Web that point outside of WhatsApp open in your device's default browser, not stored or tracked by us.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
WebSync for WA uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Ads help us keep the app free for everyone. Here is what you should know:
- AdMob may collect device identifiers (Advertising ID) to display relevant ads.
- We display a Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) consent form, as required by Google Play policies, so you can manage your ad preferences.
- Ads appear as App Open, Interstitial, and Rewarded formats. There are no Banner ads.
- We request family-safe ad inventory from AdMob — no adult, explicit, dating, or otherwise inappropriate ads are intentionally served.
- You can manage or revoke ad consent any time via Settings → Manage Ad Preferences.
Children's Privacy
WebSync for WA is designed to comply with the Google Play Families Policy.
- The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
- Only family-friendly advertisements are requested through our AdMob configuration.
- The app does not contain adult content, violence, or material unsuitable for a general audience.
- WhatsApp Web itself requires users to meet the age required by WhatsApp's Terms of Service in their country. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's use of the app.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are integrated into WebSync for WA. Each has its own privacy policy:
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services and encourage you to review their individual policies.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- All data stored by the app remains within the Android app sandbox, inaccessible to other apps.
- WebView session data is stored in a restricted, isolated WebView partition.
- The app does not transmit your personal data to any external servers operated by us.
- Shared preferences and local databases are protected by Android's built-in file-system security.
While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify users promptly of any breach that could affect them.
Data Retention
Since most data generated by WebSync for WA lives only on your device, you are in control of retention:
- App preferences are retained until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
- WebView session cookies are retained until you use "Clear WhatsApp Session" in Settings, or clear the app's storage via Android Settings.
- Downloaded files and saved statuses are files on your device — you can delete them any time using File Manager or your gallery.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data automatically.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data and the app:
- Right to access — view all data stored by the app directly on your device (app settings, saved files).
- Right to delete — delete all app data any time via Android Settings → Apps → WebSync for WA → Clear Data, or by uninstalling.
- Right to opt out of ads — manage ad consent any time via Settings → Manage Ad Preferences.
- Right to clear session — remove your WhatsApp Web session any time via Settings → Clear WhatsApp Session.
- Opt out of personalized ads — via your Android device's Advertising settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the "Effective" date at the top of this page.
- Publish the updated policy at the same URL.
- Notify users within the app if the changes are material.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of WebSync for WA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
